Ambulatory Transport
Ambulatory Transport
Protego Transport offers door-through-door ambulatory transportation for seniors and individuals who walk independently but benefit from a steady hand, personal guidance, and attentive support. Serving Northern Virginia — including Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Fauquier counties — our trained drivers provide more than a ride. They walk with your loved one from inside their home, assist through building entrances, and wait until they are checked in and settled. For families and facilities across Northern Virginia, Protego is the trusted choice for reliable senior transportation that prioritizes dignity, safety, and peace of mind.
Who Benefits from Assisted Ambulatory?
Our service is ideal for those who:
- Can walk or move short distances but need help getting safely to the car
- Use a walker, cane, or other light mobility device
- May tire easily, or have balance concerns
- Prefer someone to guide them into the building and through check-in
- Don’t need stretcher or wheelchair services but do need personal support
- Want peace of mind that they won’t be left stranded or forgotten
- Seniors or patients being discharged from a hospital who can walk but need steady support
- Individuals recently discharged who are not yet fully independent navigating buildings

Safety
Safety is central to everything we do at Protego Transport. Our ambulatory service is designed for individuals who need light assistance entering, exiting, or navigating to and from the vehicle. Every driver undergoes thorough background screening, driving record review, and routine substance testing, followed by structured training aligned with industry standards. This ensures each passenger is transported with care, awareness, and a consistent focus on safety from pickup through drop-off.
Convenience
Protego Transport makes scheduling and coordination simple for both individuals and facilities. Our dispatch team is available 24/7 to assist with bookings, updates, and ride coordination, ensuring clear communication at every stage of the trip. We offer flexible scheduling options and encourage advance booking to ensure availability. Our team works closely with clients and care partners to accommodate needs whenever possible, while maintaining dependable service.
Equipment
Our vehicles are well-maintained, climate-controlled, and spacious enough to comfortably store walkers, canes, and other light mobility devices. Every vehicle is cleaned and disinfected after each ride, with additional sanitization throughout the day. Our fleet is inspected regularly to ensure reliability on every trip — because a breakdown is never acceptable when someone is counting on us to get them to their appointment on time.
Skilled Professionals You Can Trust With Every Ride
Each Protego driver is carefully selected, thoroughly trained, and held to clear safety standards. We invest in our team so families feel confident and care teams know their patients are in caring hands.
